As advocates to eliminate maternal mortality and severe morbidity, the coalition’s overarching goal is to provide a home and platform for the patient voice to actively engage in efforts to make childbirth safer in the United States. The coalition provides training and tools to prepare “champions for change.”
We look at cross-cutting issues such as quality and consistency of healthcare delivery, patient-provider communications, racial disparities, inadequate research funding, and other leading contributors to adverse outcomes in pregnancy and the postpartum period.
For the 2023 MoMMA’s Voices Summit, November 3-5 in Orlando, FL, we are challenging participants to be prepared for what’s to come, and are looking for industry partners, organizations, and patients with lived experience who can share methods to address current and diverse challenges, instruct how to address injustices that impact health and well-being, and equip patients with a chance to become their best, professional selves.
Currently, we are accepting proposals for speaker presentations. Proposal submissions should be timely, relevant, and evidence-based topics that feature best practices in education, research, clinical practice, and leadership intended to engage our participants of patients with lived experience, and healthcare providers.
Patient Track – Relative to patient advocates in the maternal health space.
Provider Track – Relative to healthcare providers in the maternal health space.
All submissions must be received no later than 11:59 pm (Eastern time) on January 31st, 2023. Email proposal to Emily.Taylor@preeclampsia.org. Notifications of selections will be emailed to submitters in March 2023.
