A Mini Documentary Premiere for

Black Maternal Health Week

Why this story is different

There are huge disparities in care of Black moms in the US. We all have seen the headlines with the stats and know the broken system isn't getting better. What can be done right now, today?

We want to share with everyone how even with challenges, successful respectful care is possible. Listen to us talk about why we feel so passionate about sharing this story.

For Black Maternal Health Week 2022, we premiered our mini documentary "Thaen's Journey to Motherhood" at a special event that included opportunity for the audience to ask questions of both Thaen and Dr. Jason Vaught, her healthcare provider.

Special Thanks

We would like to thank those that made it possible to produce this project. Thaen Hardy, Dr. Jason Vaught, Carli Shaw and Baltimore Healthy Start for the time and space they gave us to capture these moments. Thank you to our production team at PrettyWork Creative and Tara Bristol-Rouse for seeing the vision, traveling for filming and bringing light to this important issue.
